Just pick an Archie cover at random. You've got a 50/50 chance.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Found a cover, but I'll keep looking in case I change my mind.

Those youths did frequent the beach a lot.

Still waiting on the 'Ms. Grundy Swimsuit Special,' though.

Sure, when they weren't frolicking in the snow. (The geography of Riverdale is a bit perplexing.) The basic idea of Archie is the same as the 1960s series of beach movies: the generic blonde beach bunny (Linda Evans, often as not) is Betty Cooper, Annette Funicello is Veronica Lodge, and Gidget (= "Girl Midget") is Midge Klump.

A lot of the inspiration for Riverdale was from the city of Haverhill, MA. In Massachusetts, we can frolic in the snow and sun on the beach. The are two ski areas and a few beaches within an hour's drive of Haverhill.
