Do modern comics have much value? Do they retain any real value?

It would be a good question to put to the assessors at Midtown or MyComicShop or one of these places: does a peeled tab decrease the value, and if so, to what extent? I don't care personally (I buy to read, and floppies are cheaper than digital where I shop), but it's a question for a new generation.

well if you count Walking dead #1 as modern it can go for a lot. Ive seen Ultimate Comics Spiderman (Miles Morales) 1 start to gain value,
