very good setup. Hopefully there will be lots of highlights of Harlem in the episodes.
One bit of dialogue I don't understand yet. When Luke is talking with Pops early on, he says "_____ said the same thing".. who is he referring to?

Felt more like convincing him he has the strength of character to be a hero, to me. Casting away his self-doubt, in a sense.

I am assuming that he was mentioning his deceased wife.

He hasn't always been like that. Not by a long shot. This is in keeping with the early characterization of the character--pre-Power Man--when he was hiding out from the law and didn't necessarily jump at the chance to get mixed up in other people's business out of the goodness of his heart.

The Cap movies are hands down the best of Marvel's feature output (even with Civil War being somewhat of a come down from Winter Soldier).

    Reva, his late wife.

The combo of Luke Cage and OBD is pure fire. September needs to come now.

Seems like fun and the evolution of him becoming a hero fits the character. Be cool to see the reluctant hero transition into a leader like in the comics. Plus colter was an scene stealing presence in Jessica Jones so cant wait to see something that focuses on him.

Didn't feel like a comedown at all, actually.

Maybe not for you. For some, it did. Which doesn't make it a bad film, btw.

I thought it was great, but the subject matter (heroes fighting heroes) and the somewhat downer of an ending made it less enjoyable to me than Winter Soldier. Thank god for the humor they DID manage to sprinkle in (Spider-man, Ant Man, and the Falcon/Winter Solider interplay).

Felt like one to me. (Not a huge one but enough to notice.) And since I said it, then it stands to reason the statement was meant to reflect my opinion of the film. So . . . it felt like a comedown from Winter Soldier.

It was absolutely not a bad film. But it a;so wasn't as good as the first two, which I consider the best of Marvel's feature film output.

It was better than The First Avenger by almost any standard. And I like the First Avenger.

Needs to be renewed for at least six more seasons.
Set up the character to appear in future MCU films. He can be a future leader of the Avengers.
If Cage's father is dealt with at all, let Carl Weathers play him.
