I started reading in the early '80s so I have a lot of favorites. In no particular order, they are:

    Amazing Spider-Man by Stern/Romita Jr. and Defalco/Frenz
Avengers and West Coast Avengers by Stern, Englehart, and others
    Incredible Hulk by PAD
    Thor by Simonson
    Captain America by Gruenwald

I loved the various mini series by Marvel during this period. There were some classic stories there.

    Falcon
    Wolverine
    Hercules ( 2 series)
    Squadron Supreme
    Eternals
    Vision and Scarlet Witch

I was Marvel exclusive reader until the late 80s. But I got into the post Crisis DC era around 1989 and went into the back issues for the earlier stuff.

Swamp Thing, V for Vendetta, and Watchmen by Alan Moore
    JL/JLI/JLA/JLE by Giffen, et al
    Flash
    Superman by Byrne and others

and as for as independents I got the back issues for

    Miracleman
    Dreadstar

There was a lot of other stuff I read back then. But looking back, most of it was mediocre or outright bad. No matter how bad some of the titles I read, I will always cherish the memories of visiting the local comic book store or 7-11 back then.

Looking back the Superman reboot by John Byrne, Fantastic Four by John Byrne, X-Men by Claremont/Byrne. For the record I think I really like that John Byrne guy.

In the spirit of answering the question posed (i.e., which ONE is your favorite), rather than listing every 80s comic book I like, I will say my one favorite is Claremont's X-Men run.

Swamp Thing by Alan Moore sits alone at the top with no close competition. A true masterpiece.

Others that were great include Ostrander's Suicide Squad, Miller's Daredevil, Stern's Spider-Man, and Claremont's X-Men. I need to read Grell's Green Arrow asap

This is definitely true - I love Delano on Hellblazer - but man, choosing between it and Swamp Thing... damn that's hard.
