That's so WTF, but in a good way. Ego being SL's dad fits with GotG's somewhat off-kilter and quirky tone.

Are we sure it isn't a misdirect and they weren't having fun with the SDCC audience? I really thought it would be Starhawk or Adam Warlock. How does Ego have "a face like an angel"? Starlord's mom must have been on a lot of drugs, lol. That said, Ego is a "jackass" as noted by Yondu.

I did a double take when I read that. I think there's DEGREES of lunacy you can get away with, and this feels a bit too crazy. Or more like trolling, really.

But it does fit with the kind of style of craziness and messed up stuff that has made the movie Guardians the movie Guardians, so it's not all that surprising.
I am kind of wondering how he'll look in Living Planet mode...

Ego can form humanoid like bodies from the larger planet mass, right? Seem to remember that from the comics, but I am sure the creative team have lots of surprises up their sleeves. Very cool and imaginative answer to who Starlord' dad is.
