Ha! The same Doom that lives in constant fear that Richards may be right and Doom is the bad guy (covered in rationalizations constantly) and may not be the mostest perfectest person to rule the planet (talk about over-compensation). Seriously, "Richards you are now my mortal enemy!!! NO ONE corrects Doom's math!!"Iron Maiden thinks only of danger:
Thanks *I think*. Pettiness I can understand, but fear? Are we talking about the same Doom here? The same Doom that frequently takes on teams of heroes single-handed? Who took down the Beyonder? Who held off 3 or 4 Mad Celestials so Val and Nathaniel's plan had time to work (see Hickman's FF)?
Don't get me wrong, I like him like that. He's complex, rather than being a boring megalomaniac.
'Dox out.

Well, my feathers get ruffled when you throw around stuff like "lying piece of crap"
I think Hickman pulled off the core of their rivalry quite well in SW. Later writers have gone on to say Doom's math wasn't wrong but that Reed didn't understand the mix of science and magic that was involved in the equations (see Dwayne McDuffie "My Dinner with Doom" and PAD's Before the Four: Reed Richards)
IMO Doom sees Reed as the embodiment of the rich and privileged that lorded over his family and tribe in Latveria. One of the first interactions we see is Reed criticizing his work so yeah, they are not going to be best buds for life. Doom's argument with Reed was that he felt like Reed was looking down on him. ( "You think you're better than I am" )
I would like to see what happens when Reed does return to Earth Prime (yeah, I'm gonna keep calling it that) at some point since Reed is the one that gave him another shot at changing his life.

Iron Maiden gives me a giggle:

**chuckles at fans who take offense for fictional characters**

what Doom doesn't like about Reed is reed is smarter than Doom. He won't admit it, but he knows it.
From FF 1234 by Morrison
Doom's tragedy has always been that he's the SECOND smartest man on Earth.
Lunella and Valeria take on Vic and Reed in team Trivial Pursuit. Hell, throw Mini-Reed in with the old guys as well.
