For some odd reason, I'm still interested in this upcoming Revolution thing, so I'll probably see what happens in #2, but it looks doubtful I'll stick around for too long. Critics and readers have varying opinions. So what? I for one, don't care what you or anybody else thinks. I read comics for my enjoyment. Your enjoyment is your problem.

According to Diamond, Rom #1 was IDW's top seller for July, landing at #75.

And since Marvel shipped 97 comics and DC shipped 63 (160 total between the two), it's safe to assume that Rom beat out over half of the Big2's comics for the month!

    For those keeping track...
    Previous volumes of Micronauts:

    1. Marvel series 1: 65 issues (59+2 Annuals and 4-issue mini-series)
    2. Marvel series 2: 20 issues.
    3. Image series: 15 issues (11+4 issue mini-series)
    4. IDW series: 8 issues (7+1 special)
    5. Devil's Due series: 3 issues.

They've just hit the halfway point to match Image's run, almost tripled the Devil's Due run and are close to reaching the halfway point of Marvel's second run.

I would like to see them reach the numbers of Marvel's first run.
And it's possible, considering how IDW has been very supportive of their other licensed comics like G.I. Joe, Transformers and Star Trek.
And with Titan taking Dr. Who, there's more of a chance IDW will continue nurturing Micronauts and ROM with an equal commitment of the other Hasbro titles.

Rom #2 came out today. I quite like the new space knights from what little we saw of them.

    Looking forward to seeing them.

I picked up Micronauts #4 and Rom #1 today and just finished reading Micronauts.
Looks like my suspicions of Shazraella may be close to the truth. Heh, she actually kinda reminds me of the mother in Ann Radcliffe's The Italian. Definitely not someone to take your eyes off of.

I really liked the cliffhanger ending.

And, I must say... the way they do the recap page is really good. Actually using panels from the previous issues to recap reminds me of the "previously on..." segments of tv shows.

Why is ROM allowed to use Dire Wraiths as the villains? Marvel owns them.

Marvel only owns their own Dire Wraiths. The Dire Wraiths were first mentioned in this commercial (and they were also apparently mentioned on Rom's box). As such, Hasbro can use the name and their being shape-shifting, alien magicians.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure the toy commercial got the Dire Wraiths from the comic.

OK, I finally broke down and ordered the first 2 issues of ROM from TFAW since I decided to check out Revolution once it started. Hope they end up being good reads, i've heard mixed things about em.

The commercial debuted at the 1979 Toy Fair, which would have been in February. The Rom comic started in December. So nope.

Hasbro and IDW have been using the Dire Wraiths pretty freely for some time now, with Hasbro even trademarking their name. If Marvel could raise any objections, they would've when it was first said the new Rom comic would have Dire Wraiths.

Biotron cemented himself further as my favourite Micronaut today. Loved his big scene.
