Green Goblin and Mystique more dangerous than Thanos? Seriously?

Sise-Neg, Abraxas, Dark Phoenix, The Other (Silver Surfer's foe), Magus, The Goddess (Adam Warlock's female side), Amatsu-Mikaboshi, the Death Celestials, Mad Jim Jasper, Entropy, Genis-vell while insane, the Nth Man (Joseph Lightner), are all up there with Thanos as existential threats... but none of the people in that list (besides Doom during Time Runs Out, and he was trying to save at least a part of the Multiverse from destruction) has come close to do as much damage as Thanos. Dormammu is the one who is closer, but still comes up short.

I've never thought of Thanos as any sort of ripoff of Darkseid and don't see much similarity between the characters apart from a bit of craginess. Has Starlin said something about this? Like, directly? "Oh, yeah, I was totally ripping off Kirby." Otherwise, my thoughts are of the same vein as the rest, here. Unless it was actually meant as a joke. Was the whole article one big troll?

To be fair, in this story, Thanos caught Galactus by surprise and Galactus came right back and polished him off very easily. Only when Thanos has had access to the Infinity Gauntlet has he been any match for or threat to Galactus.

Like others here, I agree that this list is misnamed. Whatever it depicts, it is certainly not villains who are more "dangerous" than Thanos. Different than Thanos sure; maybe some of them are nastier. But when it comes to being dangerous, Thanos is in a class by himself. Becoming a god and Killing half the beings in the universe, and taking on and beating all the cosmic powers kind of assures this.
