I trade-wait Black Science and Walking Dead.
Picked up Kill or Be Killed, Nailbiter, Paper Girls, Stray Bullets and Trees.
My pick is ALWAYS Stray Bullets.
You are my favorite thing, Peter. My very favorite thing.
My pick would've been an automatic Stray Bullets, but...this time? Who were those people? And why are we seeing their story? And why their story now? It's set about a week before the whole Sunshine & Roses story takes place, but why these people, why now? If next issue links them up fine, but for this month...
[Haven't read it yet but] I expect my vote'll be for Kill or Be Killed....
Age/Bronze, Age/Reptiles, Alex&Ada, Anne Bonnie, Astro City, Bone, Briggs Land, Cerebus, Criminal, Courtney Crumrin, Eleanor & the Egret, Fables, Fatale, Fell, Grass Kings, Green Valley, Goon, Gotham Midnight, Groo, Hellboy, Hillbilly, Incognegro, Jack Staff, JL8, Jonah Hex, Kane, Lazarus, Little Nemo, Lone Wolf, Next Wave, Popeye, Powers, Princess Ugg, Resident Alien, SiP, Squirrel Girl, Stray Bullets, 10G, Thief of Thieves, Tuki, Uncle Scrooge, Usagi, Velvet
My vote ended up going to Paper Girls.
That should be Beths Mom.
The next issue inside back cover blurb on Bullets explained it. IMO, the issue long build-up is needed to properly set the stage for the Beth/Mom conflict.
In any case, This is a rare week I got to choose between two books. Bullets over Midnight, which is stock Chaykin with some sci-fi inklings. At least I hope there's something more than just the stock character.
"it's Kill Or Be Killed this week!"
yep. a first for me in a long, long time in that Stray Bullets comes in second.
And thanks, Captain C for the heads up: embarrassingly enough, I've known her as "Beth" for so long, I totally missed that "Liz" and "Beth" were both 'Elizabeth'. I'd wondered, after finishing the story, that she looked like a young Beth, but got hung up on the 'but she's "Liz," not "Beth" bit.'
