Unless characters are wearing their distinctive costumes or have extremely distinctive features, it's hard to tell them apart no matter the artist. I can't join the Land criticism on this occasion.

I know some artists who are loved around here, not saying any names, who draw every character's face the same. If not for the uniform, costume, or whatever I could not tell them apart.

Sure she has. Check out some of those early Gen-X issues. Hell, check out the Phalanx Covenant issues, where she created an weapon/energy source out of the nanotech in her prison jumpsuit. She also has a perfect memory, she can read at superhuman speed, she has a genius-level intellect, etc.

There is also an issue of X-Factor where she built or repaired something. I don't remember it too well cos it's been a while but it was when they clashed with Arcade.

I have to admit, even though I do hate Greg Lands work, I like that last page. The detail in the outfits is gorgeous.

Is Monet still Algerian? Or am I wrong about that detail?

It's weird to me when colorists make her look like a black woman. Not saying she has to have the look of the majority of Algerian woman which is a more of an Arab based identity or look rather than a dark skinned African or African-American (and if I'm being incorrect in any way, blame it on pure ignorance rather than anything else), but I'm not sure what the intent with Monet is supposed to be sometimes. Maybe it was explained at some point.

She's algerian but we've been dealing with major problems with the colouring of her for a long time. I don't read her as black, a lot of the time she just looks like a tan white lady, and the tan being an optional feature. It can be an odd mix of colourism and whitewashing with the character. With Land drawing her then just assume it's a Pamela Anderson look alike with brown hair.

It would have been nice to have Sunspot still having a position on the Hellfire Club. But since he's doing a Rogue now (being an Avenger), I know for sure that this is not gonna be happening.
