Yeah tbh I prefer them looking the same and speaking in unison. It sets them apart from the other telepaths. So while in some ways it’s a step back I am not upset about it.

It's a fun bit of irony that what set them apart was the fact that they're the same. I think The Gifted really highlighted just how interesting the concept can be.

Obsessed with the Cuckoos because of their role in X-23. Spin them off into their own book!

Doubt they have the selling power for that. I think it's cool if they can be a big presence in the X-23 book at least but the probability is they'll only be around for one arc.

But it is nice comparing different types of clones and all that

Now, if we can get an Emma Frost-based book going then we can get some more prominent Cuckoos action probably

Or a Polaris book even perhaps

I like that idea. I definitely think the Stepford Cuckoos could hold down their own book. Between their role in X-23 and The Gifted, the time is right for them to strike out on their own.

The ironic thing is that apparently on the TV show they're going to start making them more individual just at the same time they went to being more the same in the comics

We don't know WHY the Cuckoos are back to looking alike again in X-23. However the fact that attention was called to it directly suggests it's a major plot point.

    spoilers:
I think it's the resurrected Esme manipulating them.

What do you mean? The Cuckoos are in the book yeah but I think they'll only be there for one arc probably. And actually they still do have distinct personalities, they're just dressing very similarly and occasionally speaking in unison. It's possible this arc may even end with them becoming more separated as a result of the events.
