Yeah, I have to agree that Frisson's cover for #52 is really good. It plays with Wonder Woman's origin in the great pinup period, and it's playful and fun. It's a real nice contrast to her earlier beautiful but rather static pictures. (Especially #49 I imagine would be stunning if remade in glass and with light shining through it). The #53 is not as fun, but it's still a nice callback to classic advertisement images.

I'm pretty okay with the Mexico covers now that I know they are somehow relate to the storyline!

What a mess. Not necessarily because the cover was changed, but because it is another little chip that contributes to less trust between DC and retailers. And in this case, the words were arguably part of the art, since it called back to old tourist posters.

That is some gorgeous coloring, especially in the varying degree of highlights on the metal belt, bust, and tiara. Her expression is both resolute and somber, indicating that, while she doesn't relish it, she will be delivering the ass-kicking required. The bend in the waist is a bit much, but it creates a nice tension with the arms. I like this cover.

...wut. Are we actually going to deal with this?

What's with "1992"? And "2011"? Those dates make no sense.

It's just a variant cover, I dunno if Diana killing Maxwell Lord will be referenced in the story.

I don't doubt it will be mentioned. But I trust Tom King to tell it in a respectful way. Like it or not, it's one of the most traumatic moments in Diana's life as a hero. I see no better reason for her to go to Sancutary, if that's indeed the case.

I actually like it. Mission's End makes me weep every time I read it (I finally got one of the old trades, so I don't have to rely on digitals). I would love it to be remembered and referenced - but I don't see how it will work, since Max came back in Justice League vs. Suicide Squad.

I do trust King to do it respectfully. I'm a big fan.

If its brought up, I'd imagine it would be in passing, same with Superman's death and Batman's breaking. Just offhand remarks reflecting on a time when the facility helped them out. Other than that I don't see it being remotely a meaningful plot point, though.
