Eh, its fair compared to some of the bile I've seen. The only reason it gets the title is politics.

Life is but a dream
Bah, I'm sure there are worse out there.
"Hey, maybe I'll get lucky. Maybe one o' those terrorists'll blow Bats away.
Nah, never happen.
Ah, well.. I can dream, can't I...?"- Guy Gardner.
"Corruptus In Extremis"
"I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library." Jorge Luis Borges
I think people need to turn their phones and computers off for a bit and take notice of how different the world is from the internet.
That strip reads a lot like some of the western manga I've encountered over the years: dweeb treated badly by girls/jocks, finds Eastern culture (or encounters some trope typical of manga/anime, like magical girls or giant robots), then his life turns around and/or he gets a hot girl. Of course, that might just as likely be the basic elements of wish-fulfillment being touched upon, but there is probably a weeabo webcomic out there somewhere of which this is deadly accurate satire.

It is, I agree. But statements like in this webcomic aren't typically real life. Women aren't in general that harsh and get that kind of gender associated leeway. And I would surmise, as Brigonos Chomhgaill posted, a lot of western dude's ideas on what eastern gals are like is probably due to fiction shipped over here to the west from the east. And fiction is just that. Not real. And not a reflection, or at least not obligated to, be a reflection of real life. So these types of statements aren't even funny, let alone should be given much real consideration.
Not the worst webcomic, but damned if it's not the most pathetic.
Also it's pretty damning that the author's 'ideal woman' is from a country where you can marry a 13-year-old.
I wanted to stop reading after the 3rd panel. That comic was awful in almost every way.
I dig music, comics and pop culture so I started a blog. It has almost ended me.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
