Default "Night of the Monster Men" will be integral to future storylines in Detective Comics

    Read bottom-to-top, as per usual.

Orlando is co-writing it with King and Tynion right? It makes sense that they would work something out to where it helps develop the ongoing storylines in their respective books, particularly Batman given it's been doing a lot to set things up .

Yep, Orlando's working the Monster Men storyline into what everyone else is doing in their own books, and might also be helping make sure all the character "voices" stay consistent between the writers.

I'm really curious to see how they all tie together. I hope it's a good one, and not disappointing like Robin War was.

It feels so good to actually care about Bat-Family events again. DC has earned back a lot of trust in a short amount of time. A solid group of writers doing a crossover using consistently good ongoing series, nice.

I'll have to read Robin War eventually. I've always been reluctant to read stuff with negative reception, especially from other Robin fans. It has good writers, so I wonder what's so bad about it.

Very true. It helps that most of the characters I love are back in the spotlight (Steph, Cass, Tim) and participating, unlike the last several events, where they either didn't exist, were dead, or were off doing other stuff I didn't care about.

Um. It does have some good writers, but they gave too much of the plot to Ray Fawkes, and that was a massive mistake. Fawkes isn't the worst writer I've read, but he's one of the most boring and works incredibly poorly with other writers in crossovers (his stuff in Batman Eternal was consistently the ones with the most continuity/character errors).

Yup, what you said. It was just a disappointment - other than Duke, Dick, and Damian, none of the other Robins really had much of a personality. If you just read Tom King's books (the two Robin War issues, and the Grayson issue), it's not absolutely the worst, but if you try to read the other issues and the tie-ins, it becomes just a huge mess of cliches and crummy art. The We Are Robin one wasn't completely bad, and surprisingly Lobdell turned in a nice Tim/Jason conversation, but it's just not worth it.

Another exciting reveal from this Q&A session was that every member of the team is going to have multiple future storylines:

At least, that's one way to parse that sentence.

A lot of cool info there, wonder if he was feeling too generous. So the second arc will be Steph and Clayface centric, Shiva and Cass arc confirmed again, Harper Row is coming and he has ideas for Dr Hurt but nothing concrete yet.

The biggest problem was imo that they put all Robins into it, while the story was only about Dick, Damian and Duke.

While Tim and Jason ended up as babysitters of the WAR-Kids, which was bad for both sides imo. The WAR-Kids couldn't really proof their worth (and didn't got much spot light) with Jason and Tim around, and Jason and Tim where completely out of the main plot and didn't contribute as much to the plot as they should, and acted more like the plot required it that like it would fit their characters.
Honestly I'm suspecting that decision to bring Tim and Jason in was made after the plot was already planed sine somebody wanted all Robins in the event, and that the writers just decided to put them in the subplot of the WAR-Kids instead of giving them their own plot.

I'm still 90% sure he'll die, but since I know he'll come back right away I think it's kind of exciting!
