Getting ready for Thanksgiving, which my family always celebrated on Sunday (not Monday which is the stat. holiday), but I may have to prepare it on Saturday. Since it's just me, I'm having a cornish hen rather than a whole turkey. I love love whole cranberries. Also stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy. If my mother was still around, I'd have her pumpkin pie which is the best thing I ever ate. I can't stand to have store bought pumpkin pie--and I can't make pumpkin pie like Mom.

Now I am eating breaded chicken fillets and whole green beans w/ butter and garlic salt to give it some flavor.

I had my Thanksgiving dinner. Everything turned out well, except I tried to make Knödel and they just fell apart when I put them in the boiling water. So I baked them in the oven instead. Last year, I finally succeeded in making perfectly fine Knödel--so I don't know where I went wrong this time. This is not something we ever ate in my family, but when I went to Austria, this was my favourite thing to eat. I can never make it quite that good, though. Schade.

Earlier today I had some Country Maid Pumpkin Mousse. It was delicious when I ate it, but a couple hours later it did a little dance in my tummy.

Yesterday I ate the sweet fine dining of one .....Captain D's. It was as James Lipton would say on Actors Studio as I ate some fish ...simply scrumptiosent with good vinegar on it.
