    Default Detective Chimp Appreciation

    DC Forum Appreciation Thread rules:

    1) No negative comments about the honoree of this thread. It's an appreciation thread, not a non-appreciation one.

    2) No negative discussion about any competitors of the honoree of this thread (i.e. John Stewart in the Hal Jordan thread). No ifs, ands, or buts. Find another non-appreciation thread to do that, just not here.

    3) No negative comments about other versions of the character. For example, if you like the DCU version of Cyborg, but hate the DCnU version (or visa versa), just appreciate the earlier version and keep your comments about the latter to yourself.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See tons of appreciation threads popping up, so here's one for the rough and tumble sleuth of sleuths.

Detective Chimp should be part of Del Toro's Justice League Dark.

I enjoyed his appearance in Scooby Doo & Batman: the Brave and the Bold.

I'm not a huge fan of Detective Chimp. Although the concept is pretty out there which is cool.

But I just found out recently that he was created by the great John Broome, who also created icons such as Hal Jordan, Wally West and Phantom Stranger.

So this character goes up a couple of notches in my book for that.

Man, this is a wild coincidence.
I'm not even following Metal; I just happened to find an old "appreciation" thread that I felt like bring back to life today (after no activity in almost four years).

Detective Chimp really is overdue for his time in the spotlight.

Isn't he showing up in the new Justice League Dark series by Tynion?
(I'm not reading it, but I thought he was suppose to be a part of it.)
