I'm excited that they're trying to appeal to more female readers, since Azzarello's book was very masculine in its themes.
DC Comics' ongoing "Wonder Woman" series gets a new creative team this fall: Writer Meredith Finch and her husband, artist David Finch.
Full article here.
Those are going to be some tough shoes to fill.
I like that they claim they're "going to try to attract that female market," and go about that by getting one of the most un-female friendly artists out there to do it. But I guess this is DC's plan to get Wonder Woman to align back up with the rest of the DC Universe stuff.
I give it one trade's worth of issues before the delays start pouring in, though.
Last Read: Aquaman & The Flash: Voidsong
Monthly Pull List: Birds of Prey, Daredevil, Geiger, Green Arrow, Justice Ducks, Justice Society of America, Negaduck, Nightwing, Phantom Road, Shazam!, Space Ghost, Suicide Squad: Dream Team, Thundercats, Titans
I'm usually the most optimistic person in the world but this sounds terrible: A touchy feely 1970's 'Lighter' Wonder Woman. perhaps I'm misreading the intent but I like Dark tones and punching things.
Ok... good. The article states that the series will depart from Azzarello and Chiang's focus on Greek mythology,
Good.and instead focus on Wonder Woman's "interpersonal relationships and her responsibilities to the Amazons
Sounds like gimmicky crossovers to me. But if it helps her book and it's well written...and her fellow heroes in the Justice League."
I do not envy the Finches here, Azz and Chiang have created a masterpiece.
Still, it will be nice to see Wonder Woman interacting with the wider DCU again! Plus, David Finch is an excellent artist, I loved his Forever Evil work. I am sure Meredith Finch will do a solid job.
I didn't know David Finch was married, let alone that his wife was a writer. This might not be bad.
I really hope DC are planning a second Wonder Woman title.

Oh god. It was real.
Will flick through the first issue but I have a feeling I'll be dropping this.
