Default why isn't there a teen lantern?

there has never been a recognized green lantern who was a teen Titan. is it due to age restrictions placed on the corps by the Guardians or is it due to the fact that a teen lantern would never have fit in both green lantern and teen Titan books or was it because they didn't want to saddle hal Jordan with a teen sidekick? what do you think? would you like to see a teen lantern or is it a terrible concept?

Green Lanterns are essentially space police armed with a weapon that relies on focusing willpower. I don't think a teen would fit in the role very well mainly due to age. I couldn't see The Guardians or the rings themselves choosing a child (from their point of view) to bear the weight of that mantle.

Kyle was a part of the Titans in the 90s, I think he was on the New Titans team.

Dick Grayson was up for consideration during one of Hal Jordan's near death experiences but generally there has been no need. The Darkstars present an alternative through Donna Troy but the only was I see a Lantern is if some writer brings back the One Million Million Planet Dimension Trigon ruled when the NTT fought him and use it a an open canvas for new stories that do not rely or get in the way of the GL mythology.

He wasn't a teen though. It was the adult Titans team.

Yeah I know but that's the closest we have gotten to a teen Lantern.

Six Earth Lanterns and seven Corps aren't enough?

I remember when if you said on a message board that there should be any other Lantern besides Kyle Rayner, most people would be aghast.

I had thought about this when I was a kid. I envisioned "Kid Lantern" as actually having internal super-powers that mimicked Green Lantern's to a degree, with a green force-field that could be used for various purposes. So he wasn't actually selected by the Corps or have anything to do with it, he was someone that Hal knew who he took under his wing. FWIW. I was 13 at the time...

Uh, how old was Arisia when she first became a Green Lantern?

(Before she used her willpower to make herself older so she could have sex with Hal Jordan.)

I wouldn't have minded a teen Lantern, maybe part of a new Young Justice team, but there's so many active human GLs right now that I really don't want anymore for a long time.

And yet, Guy Gardner somehow got picked...

I was wondering the same thing about Arisia but I just researched that it was revealed that due to the elongated orbit around its two suns, thirteen years on Graxos IV (her planet) were the equivalent of two-hundred and forty years on Earth, so chronologically she's an adult.

They did retcon this a little latter on saying the Arisa's people aged differently than humans so while she looked young she was actually older than Hal. This was manily done so Hal didn't look like a child molester when he was dating Arisa latter on.
