    Dating myself here, but my first comics sprawling crossover "EPIC!" was the Avengers-Defenders war. You never forget your first.

    I've always loved Betty, still do to this day. As for what to read for one wanting to discover Archie Comics, I'd start with the Archie Americana Series which are trade editions that feature top stories from the 40's through the 90's. I don't know if they're OOP or not, but that would be a good place to start.
