Given they already had decided to do it as a family situation before moving to CW, I think it was always going to be soap operatic. Comic book super-heroes are soap operatic. But the daughters will probably get a lot of the romantic problems.

It makes sense for Jefferson to be on Earth 38, if he's been a super-hero for awhile--because Superman has been around for awhile on that Earth. It used to seem that costumed super-heroes were a recent thing on Earth 1--but now we've seen that there was a Justice Society. So maybe Black Lightning could have a connection with some of the JSAers (or with a barista).

    Exactly.

I mean, I enjoy Flash and Legends for what they are, but they're not exactly quality television. They're a guilty pleasure that I enjoy almost entirely due to my fondness for the properties, not the actual execution of the shows. They're sort of fun, in a cringeworthy way. And I never watch the shows sober, which is important. The one time I tried I had to turn it off.

However, Lightning should work well within the confines of the CW-verse and I'll just be happy to see him show up somewhere (main point right there). And what little Ive seen of Gotham hasn't really impressed me anyway; its well done and well acted but its boring. But again, I havent seen a lot.

So, what villains should Lightning steal? He doesnt have enough of his own (that matter) to support a show, so he's gonna have to borrow some. I'd like to see Livewire (there's a precedent for alternate reality versions so Supergirl using the villain isnt a hurdle regardless of what earth Jeff is on), Shadow Thief, Electrocutioner, Psycho Pirate, the Fearsome Five, and the Brotherhood of Evil. And of course you gotta use the 100 and Whale, obviously.

Aldis Hodge is too young, I think Shemar Moore would be good.
