He may be the best wide receiver currently playing. I can't point to another WR who I can say is a clear contender for first ballot Hall of Fame status. The only ones I can possibly point to is too young to start that conversation.

Wow, that's three amazing catches by Fitz and it's the first game of the season.

There's a reason why he's the best. The only potential contender to that title retired due to having to play for Detroit.

Although, win or lose, this is more than I expected from the Pats in this game. To keep it this close missing the 2 most important starters on offense and one of the key starters on defense is pretty amazing.

Some fans claim Fitz is old and can't play anymore. I find that hilarious and would gladly have Fitz on my team over any WR except for Dez.

    *sigh*

How do you lose at home to the Patriots without Brady? Bill freaking Bellichik, man. That guy is either the best head coach in the history of the NFL or he sold his soul to the devil.

Winning the turnover battle by 2 and still losing. That doesn't happen very often.

He is most likely the best coach currently in the game. In history is up for debate - Bill hasn't created any new things like cover 2 or West Coast Offense. The big innovation is his ability to adapt the game plan to his opponent and his talent, all while having adapted moneyball to the NFL.

Ugh. That's disappointing, though the only person you can blame is the rookie long snapper, which all things considered isn't all that dire. I'm not ready to close the book on the Cardinal's season just yet. Larry Fitzgerald looks like he's doing everything in his power to close out his career with a record breaking season, Carson Palmer is still a great game manager with a cannon to boot. The rest of the wide receiver core is insanely reliable. I'd even argue that they have the best receivers in the League. Fitz, Floyd and Brown(x2) are all great. And of course you can't forget the running backs.

I think the only reason this wasn't a blowout is because of the coach. He's just freaking brilliant.

He's definitely the best coach. It leads me to believe that Tom Brady may not actually be all that great. My bet is without Bill, he would be a solid mid-range quarterback who maybe won a Super Bowl, gets named to a couple pro-bowls and becomes a journeyman after his second contract. Belichick made a stab at the playoffs with Matt Cassel for God's sake. I don't think he's going to leave too much of a lasting legacy like Bill Walsh or Buddy Ryan for example who changed the way the game was played and created playbooks that are still used to this day. His skill comes from his ability to change his own playbook. It doesn't matter who's playing, he can game plan around that. It doesn't matter if it's Brady or Garoppolo. He can win with them.

One caveat with the Cassel season - that was the easiest schedule the Pats had faced in years. They drew the AFC and NFC West during a season when one sent an 8-8 team to the playoffs, and managed to catch the other (the eventual 9-7 Cards) on such a bitterly cold day they weren't even trying. Those 2 crap divisions were 7 of the 10 wins (the other 3 came from in division). The Pats only had a couple of wins against teams with winning records that year.

I go to work for the day and return and learn...KC had perhaps its greatest comeback without a QB named Joe Montana behind it. Its also KC's biggest come from behind win in franchise history. And who was behind it ? ALEX SMITH. A guy that really was called "game manager" QB . I think basically the Chiefs let Smith do 2 things from watching clips.

    - They went to basically a shotgun spread formation and let Alex roll around. Which gassed the Chargers as he was able to start rolling along and get hot. His numbers was perhaps the most yards by a Chiefs QB in years...363+ yards .

    - They let Alex start calling his own audibles . Last year during the 11 game win streak , Smith pushed to be allowed to audible at the line and Reid said...go for it.

The biggest concern is KC needs to hope they can get a better pass rush next week. Sutton is gonna have to work on getting production as Dee Ford only managed 1 sack.

I was there... and I knew, KNEW they were gonna miss that kick. Just in my bones. They would waste a game where David Johnson, Calais Campbell, Chandler Jones, and Fitzgerald played their asses off on a missed FG. And I've seen them pull some rabbits out of the hat at the last minute in that stadium, but I knew they were gonna miss that kick.
