Oh wow. Unexpected finish! I was going in rooting for Denver, but I generally like an underdog story. Semian looked competent in his first start as an NFL Quarterback. Is he the future of Denver? Probably not, but he seems to be fine while they work on Paxton Lynch who was my favorite Quarterback going into the draft. The defense looked as elite as ever. While Von Miller's stat line doesn't look as crazy as it normally does, but he was all over the field tonight. Now to C.J. Anderson... I got cold feet and benched him in fantasy an hour before kickoff. I'm not making that mistake again.

Great game for the return of football.

Especially during a banner raising. The crowd is as hyped as they would normally be during a conference championship game. The visitor for the opener is commonly referred to as a sacrificial lamb.

Not too thrilled with the Bradford trade but if the Vikes somehow go deep into the playoff then for me it was worth it.
Still haven't heard who is starting week 1 at the Titans.
    Hopefully AP will run wild.

Last season I predicted a Chiefs-Packers Super Bowl. Once again that is pick for Super Bowl 51.
Packers beat the Cardinals in the NFC.
Chiefs beat the Steelers in the AFC.

Carolina might find itself under fire and even facing possible discipline for violating concussion protocol with Newton last night.

Oh, just throwing in my prediction for my 'Phins.

7-9, with somebody key getting hurt and things falling apart. Mediocre team with nothing to speak of on the bench. Won't take much for a collapse.

Damn, it's been a fucked up century so far. :\

You'd think a veteran like Gano wouldn't have been phased by that sophomoric stunt. Guess I was wrong.

Denver might also get players fined/suspended for headhunting. Fined, at least. Referees are likely going to get talked to about personal fouls, league wide. Debut game with "new concussion protocol", and the NFL manages to have Cam Newton star in a snuff film for head trauma fanatics. Great job, league.

Shouldn't the Panthers be losing a 6th rounder for not running Cam through the protocol?

    Also this, in theory, yes.

Everyone. EVERYONE done goofed on the concussion protocol and headhunting in that game. They couldn't have f***ed it up more without actually cracking Cam Newton's head open like a pinata.

    Yo, WBE:

NFL defends concussion protocol with Newton

    Check this out:

"During stoppage in play while on-field officials were in the process of administrating penalties, the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant and team physician requested video from the spotters and reviewed the play," NFL spokesperson Brian McCarty said in a statement . "They concluded there were no indications of a concussion that would require further evaluation and the removal of the player from the game."
I don't know about you, but I found that ridiculous.

I guess we'll know the answer if Cam becomes a potato in his 50s.
