Canadian singer and frontman of the Tragically Hip is releasing a graphic novel and solo album about the residential schools in Canada.

Looks very cool, I'll be checking this out for sure. Downie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year, and the Hip just finished their final tour. Downie has always been outspoken about environmental and aboriginal issues, and is all around a great human being. During their very last show he praised Justin Trudeau (who was in attendance) for the work he's done so far and stressed how much further their is to go.

Much respect to Gord Downie there, making his final days worthwhile. I was never the biggest Hip fan but I must admit Bobcaygeon is magic.
