Default The Greatest Pages/Panels In Comic Book History

Post the pages/panels that you think are the greatest in comic book history. They can be whatever you want. An origin of a character? A character dies? A character's greatest failure? Greatest triumph? Post them here for all to see. Let's put together the greatest pages/panels in comic book history right here for everyone to see.

Please name the comic and page number so that those who like a picture can see exactly what comic it came from and what page in case they want to buy the comic if they don't already have it. Thanks!

I'll start out with three of mine:

The Flash (Barry Allen) sacrifices himself to save the universe from the Anti-Monitor in Crisis On Infinite Earths #8 page 24:

Bane breaks Batman's back from Batman #497 page 22:

The Fantastic Four's origin and majesty begins! From FF #1 page 13:

I've always had a soft spot for the bottom half of this one:

I don't know about it being the greatest as such but the symbolism of this really worked on me.

EDIT - Oh sorry. You wanted the issue number too. This is taken from Infinite Crisis #7.

Excellent page! That's one of my favorites as well. I've always liked Kal-L better then Kal-El.

Thanks. There's just something about the art that gets to me. Golden Age/Earth 2 Superman and Lois Lane preserved forever against a backdrop of twinkling stars.

Good idea Dark Knight1047. I love posting/viewing artwork.

When people talk about Kirby grandeur, they generally are talking about the FF or Thor or New Gods or something like that. But I love this full-page knockout from the first installment of S.H,I.E.L.D. Turning the page and seeing THIS at age thirteen, I was as awestruck as Fury himself.

I loved the quiet little homage to this same moment in the first Avengers movie, too.
You can find a bunch of books I wrote stories for here. The weekly column is here.

I love everything Kirby did. He's one of the all-time greats

This is the greatest single page in comic book history, no question.

Sometimes, the obscure panels reveal more about the human condition than the epic ones:

The juxtaposition of the flag and the S shield are a remarkable way to express where Superman is as a character in DKR.

When two pages just aren't enough, or when you've only got half a story left.
