Pete Bagge from Hate Comics spoofing the early days of grunge rock as it was happening. He and other alternative cartoonists were actually doing art for many of these bands and labels.



He did an even funnier parody of his own scene as the cover for a Sub Pop video comp when "alternative rock" went mainstream

I love these types of pages. Like you said, it's reminiscent of the old JLA/JSA issues. Fond memories.
