He smoked two joints in the morning, he smoked two joints at night? He smoked two joints before fighting Captain America, it makes him feel alright?
*psychic prediction* There's going to be a post about how Cap wins a "tough fight" or better, either regardless of how Batman did vs Slade, or specifically because of it. It will be a one off post and get no replies to anyone that replies to it.
That aside, Slade's takedown of Batman wearied him from the effort he put in to the point that he was screwed up by mooks later, and Slade had his gear for that one (he didn't make staggering use of it outside of some initial use of his staff, but he was wearing his costume, his costume is armored, etc).
Cap being completely gear'd out including the Shield to Slade being naked gives Cap a shot, the hits Batman got in despite Slade being in his armour did hurt the guy and combined with Slade's overall effort ultimately leave him walking away from the fight shaking, sweating, bleeding and clutching at himself, and Cap by contrast has the shield to put his striking power behind (he should have the sense to keep it for hand to hand). So he has a shot, though Slade could still take it and just end up in worse condition than the other fight.

This is a 10000000000000000% less interesting fight now.
lol bonus rumble then
They both decide to get baked . Who passes out first
I mean, they both have alterations that should let them process drugs better, but we've certainly seen Cap get taken out by gas (hur hur *two year old makes joke here*), also Deathstroke was active in the 60s and fought in Vietnam. I am willing to say that one Slade Wilson is thus pretty familiar with ganja at this point and so comes into this with a pre existing edge as far as the truly heroic levels of toking they are about to do.
Still, they have, the /deepest conversations/, man. About important things. About what it all /means/. And also the prettiest of butterflies.
And sometimes it's just like the old days around here.
Why are we here?
"Superboy Prime (the yelling guy if he needs clarification)..." - Postmania
"...dropping an orca whale made of fire on your enemies is a pretty strong opening move." - Nik
"Why throw punches when you can be making everyone around you sterile mutant corpses?" - Pendaran, regarding Dr. Fate
In a pure H2H fight Cap edges out Batman, so with gear or without I'd give this to Steve.
So, just to pick that last one, if Cap but edges out Batman, why in a fight without gear is he beating the guy who managed a takedown, if a draining one, of Batman?
Do you feel Deathstroke v Batman was not a particularly valid showing for either? By "edges out" did you instead mean "conclusively beats"?
^ Lol Pendaran is psychic....though I was expecting MidTierHero to say this
Some threads are not hard to predict.
Uh, I mean, time to buy some lotto tickets!
edit: There's one particular sort of post that this thread should draw out from the ether of the internet, and I don't want to quite note it at the moment, because it's the deer in the wilderness of nerd fight debate board posts, if it knows you are watching, it will bolt.

Were Cap a common warrior, he would lose in most cases.
However, he is skilled and smart enough to fight in a manner that takes full advantage of his equipment advantage.
Mainly that it would be very bad to try to block shield hits with your arms or legs.
The shield is big enough to cover large areas and anyone who has fought against a shield knows it is hard to avoid a shield bash.
But that is not even the main thing. Steven does not have to try as hard and can target limbs as they attack with the edge of the shield.
One or two solid hits from the edge means Deathstroke is in a world of hurt.
This is just something that came to mind when I saw this.
There are other things that could go wrong with this tactic, but it is a solid one. Defending with a weapon that makes it very hard to get hit and makes your hits much harder than your opponents.
There are a variety of things that could go wrong with that tactic, including being disarmed by Deathstroke, at which point the fight leans well more to him. And just also Slade attacking in ways to get around block attempts.
It also gets into the perennial "is Cap's shield an edged weapon or is he and other people just tossing/shoving the otherwise indestructible force object hard enough to take advantage of its composition" that has varied in depictions (and having multiple wielders who throw the thing around) as far as the whole not otherwise slicing through themselves when they and others have caught it, everyone otherwise hit with the rim of the shield (you could say that first thing is just comics, but that second would more be like throwing a knife at people, hitting them with the knife blade, but somehow they're not cut).
I mean having the shield and Slade having nothing gives Cap a chance for several reasons, but not an all deciding/dominating one.
