New Series People you Know Launches

Hi everyone,

I've created a new series People you Know that launched online through Vimeo On Demand and I wanted to share it with you. Hope that you give it a chance. Crimson Knight, so sorry that I did not get to respond to you earlier. This is a fully scripted drama series that follows the lives of 10 LGBT characters in NYC. Our tag line is:

How would you compare it to other LGBT series? And, is that the main focus, or yet another facet of the series?

Also, literal seven deadly sins, like, an evil force possessing them all, or just figuratively, and they're lusting, getting gluttonous, wrathful and all that?

Thanks for your reply, Crimson Knight. I am not sure how familiar you are with other LGBT online series, but ours stands out because the episodes range from 20 - 35 minutes and we have 11 main characters. That reason alone increases the diversity and complexity of the characters and storylines. As with all online series we strive to create work that you do not get to see on network television (and sometimes cable) on a much, much smaller budget. What I really like about the LGBT shows that are on the web is that they are all so different. We enjoy the drama and really went full force with that genre.

We set out to create a series about a group of friends and while they are, for the most part, all along the various spectrum of the LGBT labels, that is not their only attribute. These are characters who upon meeting, being gay is the third or fourth interesting thing about. The show does focus on their relationships and is meant for a mature audience, but we do not treat the characters as stereotypes. The first six episodes asks and answers the question "Can a group of close friends survive the demise of a central relationship? Should it survive?" From there, the individual storylines will come into play and each character will have their own moment where they must make a decision that will affect how the group moves forward.

Someday I will create a sci-fi related series, but for now People you Know focuses on how the literal deadly sins affect them in their lives. Each of the characters falls victim to their own insecurities and hang ups.
