USAvengers designates ever state and Avenger

Saw this on the front page, felt the need to comment on it.

I'm curious how this is going to work. Are they jst randomly going to assign Avengers to different states. I know I can't reallt think of an Avenger that fits as the Idaho or Wisconssin representative.

Also Cage really needs a $#@%$! costume! The least he could do is like the old Mage comic did and have him wear a T-shirt with a superhero logo on it. Looking at those covers, it's like "Here's Captain America, Here's Beast, here's random black guy that just wandered in..."

I don't think it's an actual plot line, more an excuse to do 50 variant covers with different Avengers on because of the team's name.

It's not random. There's some sort of connection between every Avenger and the state they got assigned to. However, given the sheer number of covers, some connections are more tenuous than others. Thus Winter Soldier and Beast get the states they were born in, Iron Man gets the state he made his home in for many years, the original Captain America gets the original American state, and, while lots of heroes could have gone to New York (Spidey and DD spring to mind), Luke Cage won that one - born and bred in NYC, and makes his home in arguably the heart of the city, in Times Square itself.
