    I still wonder if/when we might get a "Doctor Mid-Nite" back into continuity, and if so, who'll they'll decide to go with.

    I knew Cross thanks to the Robinson/Goyer/Johns JSA and eventually read his mini, i always he liked him and he probably was my favorite member of the team, his friendship with Mr Terrific was always fun to see and i did like the idea of him and Dinah having a thing, sadly that it never happened.

    They are probably bringing the WWII crew, so Charles is my guest.

    Dr. Beth Chapel - first appeared 1985 / death in 1993

    Dr. Pieter Cross - first appeared in 1999

    Remember, this poll is who you first read about, not which one you prefer.
    That Who's Who is my favorite single image of the original Dr. Mid-Nite.

    Since I last updated the totals,
    * Dr. Charles McNider (1941) = 43 votes (+3)
    * Dr. Pieter Anton Cross (1999) = 16 votes (+4)
    * Dr. Beth Chapel (1985) = 6 votes (+1)

    Well, one more vote since I last counted them up:
    * Dr. Charles McNider (1941) = 44 votes (+1)
    * Dr. Pieter Anton Cross (1999) = 16 votes
    * Dr. Beth Chapel[/B] (1985) = 6 votes

    Now we have to wait and see if/when any Dr. Mid-Nite/Dr. Midnight may be brought back (or a new one introduced?) in future stories.

    And yes, I know the JSA is going to be reintroduced in stories starting in Justice League #31 next month, but Dr. Mid-Nite was not one of the members pictured on that cover image, so who knows?

    1 vote in over 2 months...? Maybe it's time to announce the winner!

    Is that how these threads work?

    Charles McNider - in an Australian black and white reprint of Justice League of America 100-101. This sparked my love of Earth-2 and its heroes.
    A few months later All-Star Squadron #1 was released. This was the first time I saw the character in full colour.

    For these threads, it's not about who's your favorite, so there's no "winner" per se.

    It's more about exposure to the different versions.

    Pieter Cross for me. He was in a random trade paperback I picked up on a whim one day at my LCS, from fairly early on in the Johns run.*

    *I'd traded in some old figures I didn't want at a local toy store, and decided to use my store credit on this action figure that looked so boring, but really appealed to me for reasons that to this day I can't explain. I had the choice of DC Direct Hourman I or III, and I chose I, That was the slow beginning down what was to become a lifelong love of both Rex and Rick Tyler, and the JSA. Me purchasing that tpb that day was my initial attempt at dipping my toes into the water to see if these books were for me. They very much were. Again, I can't explain why. On paper I should dislike them. But here I am. Strange world we live in.
