I think I finally know what bothers me about the art direction of this series; the total absence shading.
The artist formerly known as OrpheusTelos.
That's one way to quickly end his career as a Daily Bugle photo journalist.
I wonder if we'll get the Ultimate Spider-Man treatment of Jonah Jameson where he grants Peter a scholarship instead of suing him or hating him.

Looks like I'll have to move past gameplay footage
So they merged the Bugle and the Fact Channel?

Here comes season 2, and here is mine opinion about first season:
I still can call the series fit. Not like its predecessors from past decades (perhaps - for now), but not through. The everyday situations look organic, the humor does not enrage, the action scenes are inventive, and the soul is felt. The problem is that sometimes there is haste and dampness. For example, with the moment of the emergence of Morales to Spider (I hope in animated movie be fine). Also artificial stretching of the season, especially in the second half of the season. As well as the series with Iron Man, Hulk and the Black Widow. Another problem is that some characters are taken and forgotten. About flashbacks with Uncle Ben remembered only in the end, Aunt May disappears for half the season, but about Shocker, the Black Cat and Miles's father after their appearances are generally forgotten. And regarding Miles and the other heroes - did not pay enough attention to everyone (especially Anna). And let the friendship between Peter and Harry be shown well, even perfectly, at the same end of the season the connection between them went from side to side (even stronger than the relationship between Peter and Gwen in the "Amazing Spider-Man 2"). They are no longer friends, they are friends again. What exposes Harry hysterical. And maybe the reason is that - some creators wanted to do it in their own way, but others in a different way. What can be traced through all the promo, starting from the design of the villains, and the characters shown in the series.
However, the series I can not call a failure. In spite of everything, the creators really tried to make the dignity. A bunch of references, interesting ideas, and a series with Sand Man, even though it reminds (perhaps only for me) of "Spider-Man 3", this series is better than the whole "Spider-Man 3". I'm sure, by the second season will be able to catch up, and make the series even better.
So Gwen and Anya were written out? They only showed Peter, Jonah, Miles and Venom...
