Well the Hand are ninjas from Japan so yeah .... having them Japanese makes sense. You could have white ninjas but people would probably complain about that too.

Keep in mind that they're not really the Defenders, they're Heroes For Hire.

The very first time I saw the news about the Marvel Netflix series the crossover show was still called Heroes For Hire. I suppose they changed it because none of them is getting paid for their heroics, and because nobody at Marvel seems to be interested in doing a Defenders project (likely because they can't use most of the characters - Namor, Silver Surfer, all those X-Men...).

All we saw from the Chaste were Elektra, Stick and Stone. That's hardly representative of the group as a whole.

All we saw from the Chaste were Elektra, Stick and Stone. That's hardly representative of the group as a whole.

Nope.

We saw the French assassin Stick sent to kill Elektra. We saw the African American man Stick worked with before killing him to protect Elektra. We saw the two kids Elektra was training with as a kid before she killed the one later who attacked her. And we saw the two guys Elektra killed in the car before going after Stick.

By my count that's nine. Granted, Stone could've been Asian, but going by the show's track record so far, I'm not terribly hopeful.
