He sports the cape and the Shield, but why? At this point the Eradicator seems pretty self aware that he is not Superman, why does he still keep his appearance like he is? I'm only up to issue 6 of the current series so maybe its explained.

Better yet, why do they love making him a villain? Isn't he like the Superman equivalent of Artemis?
