Default Spider-Man: Homecoming Gets Prequel Comic

I didn't think that the news of a Spider-Man: Homecoming Prequel comic was that significant, but it's been getting a lot of coverage.

I suppose part of the interest is the paucity of information, and that this may be the chance to see the origin of this particular version of Spidey.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

The news is no surprise. All MCU movies get prelude comic books now. And yes, it's probably a retelling of Amazing Fantasy volume 1 #15, updated to fit within the MCU.

It could also set up other character dynamics or situations so we don't get too much exposition in the movie.

It says it takes place after Civil War and up till the start of Homecoming, so events based on AF #15 may be shown only in flashbacks.

    No, it doesn't.
You adored his introduction in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, you can’t wait for his Hollywood Homecoming – now really get to know the Spider-Man of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this prelude to his big-screen solo adventure! By day, young Peter Parker attends high school and lives with his Aunt May. By night, he fights crime with wall-crawling powers and web-swinging tech – and he’s destined to one day have an amazing, spectacular, sensational reputation as his neighborhood’s friendly hero! Join Marvel’s Spider-Man as he makes his first tentative web-swings towards a blockbuster future!
No mention of timeline placement at all. If anything, "as he makes his first tentative web-swings" implies that it will indeed be the origin.

Well, "prelude to his solo adventure" is a weird way of putting it if they meant the story takes place pre-CW. Especially as the opening line refers to Civil War as his "introduction". CBR seems to have had the same impression as me too, going by their opening for the article.

A poorly executed Uncle Ben shooting. There's one version that is the best: The original 1967 animated short of it.

Uh, these comics are officially called Prelude, it's literally the Prelude to the movie. And "introduction" means where we first saw him and is utterly irrelevant to to the Prelude comic's content. Anything outside what I quoted is speculation.
