When it comes to the match ups between the One Piece and Fairy Tail monster trios I don't think I've ever seen this one, oddly enough.
So here we go. The Ice Mage against the Cook.
Who wins?

How physically strong is Gray these days?
Sanji is pretty ridiculous since the timeskip and he can essentially fly. Plus his heat kicks might a good counter to Gray's ice mojo.
No really on Sanji's pacifista busting levels, but he's no slouch.
Here he, Natsu punch a massive tree based attack to bits.
He's also been trading punches with Natsu a lot lately and they're always evenly matched. Note that Natsu is strong enough to do this.
In the most recent chapter Gray's been freezing Natsu's fire attacks as he's going on a rage fuelled and demon powered rampage, and in general trading blows back and forth with him. I don't think that Sanji's heat and fire have the oomph required to counter Gray's ice magics.
In which case, it kind of comes down to speed. As I recall, Fairy Tail didn't have steep a speed curve. Could Sanji kick his head in before he just AoE freezes him?
Possibly. Gray can create large ice constructs pretty quickly.
Here are a few of the big things that Gray can create at a moments notice.
Large AoE
Massive wall
Large pillars in general with a finger snap
He could potentially create a large dome to hold off Sanjis attack and counter right as Sanji breaks through.
Gray's stats are hard to quantify. But in their current fight, he's so quick that Natsu hasn't landed a single clean hit. There are a couple of times where the artwork seems to be going out of its way to show that Natsu is charging at full speed, that Gray reacts after the charge begins and that he still completes his ice magic defense in just in time.
Is that enough?
