Default Willy Wonka Prequel From Warner Bros. In The Works

    Yup this is happening apparently

I'm pretty neutral on this. I still have yet to see the first Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie despite loving the book as a kid and I personally felt the Tim Burton remake was okay at best.

The remake was ****. Johnny Depp can't carry Gene Wilder's jock.

In what universe is Tim Burtons garbage version anywhere close the level of the original version?!?!? I mean just watching Depp's Wonka act like an even more creepy version of Michael Jackson is enough to damn this movie to the pits of hell let alone how bad the rest of it was on top of that trainwreck.

Some elements of the remake were a bit closer to the original novel (and Dahl wasn't too pleased with the Wilder version).

Very little was any closer to Dahl's novel than the original. Including the squirrels was about it, aside from Charlie's father working in a toothpaste factory. Dahl wrote nothing about Wonka having father issues. The Wolper-produced film had charm, great music, and real suspense and thrills. This was a mess. It pretty much presaged the abomination that is Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

My only answer to a prequel, sequel, side story or any other attempt at milking the book (don't even try to do The Great Glass Elevator, it wasn't even as good a book) is:

    Not only no; but F......NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Gene Wilder's Wonka had charm, class, and style. You could tell that there was something off about the guy and maybe even something dangerous, but at the same time he was very likable. I can see a person like him actually being able to run a company (even if he did it in an odd way.)

The Depp Burton, seemed like he was barely able to function and the first response anyone should have to him talking is "get away from me you creep." There was something seriously wrong with that man, and not in the good fun way.

this shows what kind of people that run Warner Brothers all they care about is money and not respecting the deceased. classic typical greedy ignorant suits who care more about drinking their expensive champagnes, riding in limos, owning several properties around California, and playing golf with their obnoxious wealthy friends.

no wonder Gene Wilder hated show business, he didn't care about how much money his movies made he simply loved the art of acting. you got the suits using acting to make a profit and they don't care about anything else but that green showing.

The problem is that Depp likes taking a very weird interpretation approach in characters in this case it just doesn't work..
