I feel other mutants deserve to have a solo more than Cable

We can say this about Cable, Gambit, Wolverine. They had mostly solo series about "present times" not past times. I don't think that this is important.

They have different tone of their adventures.

I may just be speaking for myself, but back in the X-Force & Cable mini and Cable & Deadpool #26-27, Fabian Nicieza introduced a time in Cable's younger life where he traveled back to the ancient past and went by the name "The Traveler". I would love to see that explored some more and maybe introduce characters who were around during that time like Ulysses Bloodstone who shared in Cable's adventures in the past.

You may say that I'm looking after number one (is this the right expression?), but Longshot was created for his own solo limited series and he had two more (failed --earnest, though) solo series after that. Further, IMO he's a genuine vagabond character who doesn't need a team (although he knows how to get used to whatever), and I would love to see him again in a title à la 'Kung Fu': I think it would be perfect.
