In an equality utopia like ST, having uniforms divided by gender would be pretty oddly sexist. Granted, it would have been better to do away with the mini-skirts for everyone, but this works, too.Tami doesn't?:
I never quite understood the need for some men to have pantless uniforms in ST:TNG.

I guess so. I probably got it better back in the 1980's. Now I don't wear dresses anymore and can't imagine why anyone would even want to if they had a choice ....well, okay, some women like the way it looks, but dresses aren't very practical and your legs get cold.
