Luna has done very well as Robbie Reyes, and the writers have used him well, I think. That scene in the last episode where he walks through the prison riot and the prisoners are rushing to get back in their cells was too good.

I've enjoyed Brandon Routh as Atom as well. Though it may not be the most precise characterization to the comic, he brings the right notes of optimism, adventuring spirit, and ingenuity that makes Ray Palmer great.

I was glad to see Brandon Routh get another shot with DC/WB.

It seemed to me that the only instructions he received when filming 'Superman Returns' were, 'Do your best Christopher Reeve impression!'. That affected his performance for me.

It's good to see him bring a much more natural and optimistic approach to Palmer.

The most surprising casting is Caity Lotz as Sara Lance. When she first appeared, on ARROW, I didn't understand why they were replacing the actress who played the brunette Sara with this blonde--but over the course of her appearances on ARROW she became a greater and greater character. Then on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, she's proven her worth as an action hero. This season, as Captain Lance of the Waverider, she's one of the greatest characters in TV comic books.

It helps when the actors can do their own stunts.

Prior to the TV series there was a parody song that received extensive radio play called "Big, Bad Bruce" by Steve Greenberg about a hairdresser who was obviously gay.
It was a parody of the song "Big, Bad John" by Jimmy Dean, the steel driving black railroad worker, which was also popular at the time. The way then name Bruce was
said in the song made him sound so flamingly fruity that no one could have taken a hero named Bruce seriously after that. The suits made the right decision at the time.
