MAGMA Appreciation (Amara Aquilla/Alison Crestmere)

Some appreciation for the classic rendition of Lady Amara by Bill Sienkiewicz.
IIRC his "magma effect" was created simply by using red ink pen over coloring.
An old-school, low tech technique that I would say has rarely, if ever, been rivaled by advances in coloring methods.

Yeah, always loved that look for Magma.
It gives the feeling of the lava moving over her body and also very distinct from other "flaming" people, such as the Human Torch.

It was quite unique when Amara first appeared, and still is even today.

It sure is!
