Another great video Enigma! I generally agree with you about Hammerhead. I didnt really care for the Bond girl in it as much as you (I prefer the Bond girls in Black Box and Ellis's runs more) but I agree its an okay but not great story line. Its saving grace is that I love that shark scene as well and those sketches in the collection were pretty cool to see. I honestly couldnt remember a thing about Service until you started discussing the plot. I've only read it once, so maybe I need to follow your advice and re-read it, but its probably my least favorite comic from this current wave of Bond comics. I would be all for Gillen taking another crack at Bond, though, and it was awesome to see the signed comic you got from them. I loved Solstice and would be all for seeing more from that creative team.

I am super excited for The Body coming out this week. I can't wait to get it Wednesday. I'm neutral in regards to the James Bond: Origins series coming out later this year. I'll probably have stronger feelings one way or another once we get a creative team/more information about the plot. I'm curious to hear your thoughts about the DH comics when you get to them. I haven't read any of them, so it will be interesting to hear you discuss Bond comics I haven't previously read.

I'm annoyed because I get monthly subscriptions, so I won't get it for a few weeks It wasn't the Bond girl herself, so much as the fact that she was a bad Bond girl, if that makes sense? Like Elektra, compared to Honey. I'm really hoping that these one-shots are 'interviews' for creative teams to get a mini series, and would also love to see more from them the Solstice team. I still haven't checked, but I'm sure that Moustafa was the writer and artist. I've only read Serpent's Tooth so far, but Silent Armageddon and Shattered Helix have arrived, plus a couple of movie adaptations. They can be expensive though, having to bide my time :P

Finally got a chance to catch up on my Bond comics, specifically Kill Chain #6 and the Body #1. The final issue of Kill Chain was...fine, like the rest of the series. While I enjoyed the various parts of Diggle's run on Daredevil that I read, I haven't been crazy about his two mini-series. I think they both have excellent parts in them, but overall they end up feeling a bit generic to me. Kill Chain #6 falls right in line with that for me. Not fantastic, but not really memorable either. One of the positives I'll note is the action scenes in it are really good and the cover is stunning. The issue does end on a bit of a cliffhanger that I assume is setting up Diggle's next mini-series, but I can't say I'm terribly interested in. I'll likely pick it up if he does do another, but I don't expect anything much different than what we got in Hammerhead and Kill Chain.

On the other hand, the first issue of the Body was fantastic. I loved the banter between Bond and his doctor, Dr. Vird. The story is fairly simple, but the way Kot has it unfold and has Bond describe the tale to Dr. Vird had me completely invested. While Diggle's Bond feels more like action movie Bond to me, Kot's Bond feels much closer to Fleming's Bond for me. It also had several humorous moments during it for me. I also hadn't realized that Casalanguida was the artist for this as well (Casalanguida did the art for Kill Chain). Like Kill Chain, the action pieces in this by Casalanguida are great. I am really looking forward to part 2 coming out next month.

My December comics have arrived so I have Kill Chain #6, but I don't really feel like rushing to read it. I'm looking forward to 'The Body' though. I'm not too fussed what happens to Diggle, but I would like Casalanguida to have another series as artist. Also, part 3 of my Dynamite reviews is out, next one will be once there is a batch of stuff to review, potentially Kill Chain/The Body/M.

Another good video Enigma! You mentioned Felix being a detective during his mini-series. It was established in one of Fleming's books that Felix became a detective after the shark attack (I believe Diamonds are Forever). I loved the art during this mini-series ( I forget who the artist is) and agree that I enjoyed Felix's journey through out it. I was generally fine with the art in the MoneyPenny one-shot, though I agree that some of the faces were a bit...weirdly drawn. I liked the flashbacks they had in the flashbacks.

I am curious what future one-shots they may be releasing in the future. I wouldn't mind if they had the mini-series focus on Bond's adventures and devote the one-shots to Bond's supporting cast. I don't think we will end up getting too many one-shots based around the classic Bond villains since I think all of the well known ones were killed in Fleming's books. I am curious if they will eventually incorporate some of the characters from the movies who never appeared in the books (like Jaws). I would be all for bringing them in and seeing new stories with them. I also agree with you that while I enjoy aspects of both, I do prefer book Bond over movie Bond. That said, I think to a degree Connery and Craig Bond are a fairly good representation of Book Bond (I would probably put Dalton in that category as well).

Those are some awesome covers for those Bond comics you got! I haven't read any of the comic adaptions of the movies (or any of the Dark Horse Bond comics for that matter), so you will have to let me know whether they are worth checking out.

And I'm starting to think they are never going to release that Casino Royale TPB....

Thanks! The artist is Aaron Campbell. I don't think that it matters - what I want in terms of villains is primarily history and understanding of how they came to be I haven't any of them yet either. I'm in the lab/office too much, my reading pile is terrifying :P

I'm really surprised that I'm saying this, but the first issue of The Body was disappointing. I never really felt like the body and the story (except for the note and Bond's final words) were connected properly, which was the point of it. However, the art was fantastic, particularly the action scenes as mentioned by Jack. The only artistic element that I didn't like was Bond's image in the first few pages. This might sound strange, but he seemed to muscly to me, it just didn't feel right.

I'm sorry to hear that the Body didn't live up to the hype for you. For me, the story really engaged me in this basically day in the life of Bond style tale that was a simple mission that resulted in the injuries that Bond was getting checked out for. I also really enjoyed the banter between Bond and his doctor and the fact that Bond was almost describing the mission as this Roger Moore style Bond story while in reality its being revealed to us that it was really more in the vein of a Daniel Craig Bond type story. I do agree that the art was a bit off in some of the early pages, though overall I loved the art.

The art as a whole was the saver for me. I think it is less because it wasn't good, and more because it wasn't as I expected. I do wonder if this is an arc that I will appreciate more when it is complete.
