Ah nice. I read one of the old JB mini series (the name escapes me), and it was awful haha This sounds more hopeful though!

“We have a saying, my people. Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.”
I finally got to reading the Moneypenny one-shot. I really enjoyed it. I agree that it was awesome to see Moneypenny in action and enjoyed the contrast Houser did with her and the rest of the agents. I also liked the flashbacks, though I thought placing the scene with her and her friend as kids in school between the flashbacks between her getting the new assignment from M and the flashback with Bond was weird. I assume it was to tie in with Moneypenny realizing there was something off, but it broke a bit of the flow for me.
Hmmmmm, I think I see what you mean, although I am going from memory only :P I'm looking forward to 'Solstice', plus the Casino Royale adaptation is due out soon! I actually read Carte Blanche the other week - it was good, but not mind blowing. I really didn't like it initially, but it got better.

Yeah, I'm really excited for Solstice. And I think that perfectly sums of Carte Blanche. Its enjoyable but not much more than that. Its one of the first Bond novels I read, so its memorable for me in that regard. I think I had two main problems with it: I feel like the writer felt each chapter needed to end in some sort of cliffhanger, but half the time the cliffhangers amounted to nothing. Second, the Bond in that book felt much more "tame" for like of a better word. The Bond of the books and the recent comics have a certain brutality when necessary that I felt that version of Bond didn't have.
I also read Kill Chain #2 and #3 today. So far I've found this series to be fairly enjoyable, but it doesn't stand out in any major way. I did enjoy the interactions between Felix and Bond much more in issue#2 than their interactions in Black Box. As much as I enjoy Felix, I do find it slightly strange that he is popping up in all of Bonds cases in these recent mini-series. I have been wondering if there might be some benefit to having just a main series instead of a bunch on mini-series that are relatively unconnected to each other. If there was, they could also continue to release the one-shots that would give different writers a chance to tell a brief tale in addition to the main series as well.
I think that would be an interesting idea. What I would REALLY like to see, is a long term arc. Something that doesn't have to be squeezed into 6 issues...
“We have a saying, my people. Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.”
Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Since several of these mini-series having been dealing with SMERSH recently, I would like to see several arcs build up to a major confrontation between the organization and Bond instead of these various one off missions where Bond just faces a branch of them. I think that would feel much more satisfying to me.
That would be really nice ye, it is maybe something they could do on an anniversary year, kinda like the big DC events. I would like an arc which looks at Bond doubting his own allegiances and questioning his career and the consequences of his work.

"Natasha Romanoff, A.K.A. Black Widow - ex-KGB, formerly with S.H.I.E.L.D...Probably the brains of this operation.I have followed her career, and she has been consistently UNDERRATED."
The Diamonds novel is OK, it's actually a bit similar in a few ways to the movie; except with much less emphasis on comedy, Tiffany is much different, and there's definetly nothing involving Blofeld/SPECTRE/laser satellites (The novel does feature the mud bath, but in a totally different context).
FWRL is the next book, and it's also fairly close to the movie. Funny thing is, the producers flipped it with "Dr.No". Remember the thing that M refers to in Dr.No about Bond being in the hospital for half a year due to his gun jamming? That's actually intended to be a reference to Bond actually getting stabbed by Klebb's poison blade shoes in FWRL-and Tatyana is not present. However, since FWRL came after in the movie continuity, in the same inciddent Tatyana actually saves Bond from the fate of his literary counterpart. In the novels M figures the Jamacia/Cray Key assignment would be an easy one for Bond, figuring that Strangeways just ran away from his secretary-the thing about toppling doesn't come up until later if I remember correctly.

I generally agree with the review about Kill Chain #4. I enjoyed the conversation between Felix and Bond even if it was a bit obvious where it was going. That said, I have been enjoying this mini-series and I'm curious to see how the whole FBI's most wanted piece will go.
I haven't read the review, because spoilers, but I feel like I'm waiting for a worthwhile issue

Yeah, if you enjoyed Diggle's previous mini-series and have enjoyed this one so far, I would say you will probably have a blast with this issue.

That looks really interesting! I hope that they get it right, but it sounds like a risky concept, they could very easily mess it up. I'm sure that they won't though
Also, the Casino Royale adaptation has been delayed until December for anybody who was interested - I presume those who also pre-ordered it got an email from your respective seller?
