I am beyond excited that they are finally releasing a trailer this week. They released a brief teaser for the trailer earlier today. There is only snippets of footage in it, but I am liking what I am seeing so far.

Oh, I am SO ready for this... I was apprehensive about returning to Blofeld, but I'm happy to wait and see it since he is seemingly just a source of information. I'm very intrigued by the Swann/Safin connection - some people are talking about Dr No, but personally I don't see it and I would rather he be left as he is in Dr No. I am all over those DB5 machine gun doughnuts

Also, this looks interesting! A really nice creator team... Gail Simone (L)

Yeah, I've been waiting for this to finally release and this trailer did not disappoint. I like Blofeld as essentially this Hannibal Lector type. Part of me is a bit concerned they are going to make him the mastermind behind this films plot as well. As long as they keep him to being just a source of information, I'll be pretty happy with his role in the film. I'm a bit on the fence about Swann having this major secret that Bond has to solve through the course of the film. On one hand it makes sense she would have some major secrets considering who her father is, but it also reminds me of Spectre a bit which I wouldn't want them going down that route again. That said, I hope Swann survives this movie particularly since she seems to have a major role in it. It would be a change of pace from the typical Bond film and since this is Craig's final Bond film I would prefer it ends on a happy note (assuming those rumors that Bond is killed in this are not true). The machinegun doughnuts delighted me to no end as well as the final shot in the trailer of Bond creating the classic gun barrel sequence. If nothing else, the action pieces in this film look incredible.

I'm a bit mixed on Reflections of Death. I'm usually not a huge fan of anthology graphic novels since I feel like the stories are often way too short in them, but several of the Bond short stories that have been released over the last couple years have been some of the best. The creative team I'm about 50/50 on. I really like Pak and Simone's work, but I wasn't a big fan of Percy and Diggle's Bond work, particularly Diggle's. I haven't read anything by Russel, Ayala, or Lore so they are a bit of a wildcard to me. And I guess it makes sense that they are releasing a Warren omnibus before No Time to Die is released. Warren and Master's started their run right before Spectre was released and its probably still the most popular Bond run since 2015.

Ayala/Lore are doing some Bond just now, literally just been released I think. With the omnibus, it isn't that I don't think their work deserves it (it SO does), but a 12 issue omnibus with 50-odd variant covers? Cheeky in my opinion Release a special edition, fine, but don't make out that it's an omnibus. For me, 12 issues just doesn't qualify.

Oh, awesome! I knew Ayala/Lore's first issue was being released this month, but I couldn't remember when. I really need to catch up on my Bond issues so I can check-out Ayala/Lore's first issue. And that's fair. I agree that an omnibus is really unnecessary for just 12 issues, but I'm not surprised it's happening either. I'm sure Dynamite is going to squeeze as much money out of No Time to Die being released in April as they can....

I wonder if they'll take the chance to retcon some of the stuff with Blofeld from Spectre, or double down on it? I mean, it would be the simplest thing in the world to throw in one or two lines about how they haven't been able to confirm anything about Blofeld's background and that he's a master manipulator who cannot be trusted...
    As of now:
All-Star Batman, Batman, Doom Patrol, The Flash, The Fix, The Flintstones, Green Valley, Hadrian's Wall, The Hellblazer, Moonshine, New Super-Man, Suicide Squad, Superman, 'Tec, Unfollow

I would love if they went with a quick retcon like that. I have a feeling, though, that they are just going to ignore the whole brother thing from Spectre and just not mention it.

Have you by chance posted this somewhere else? I feel like I've previously replied to this exact comment and it's freaking me out haha

In response though, I don't think that they should retcon anything. It's Craig's last film and I think that they should be tying the ribbon rather than contaminating everything that came before. I like the idea of Blofeld being there simple as a moment of 'I told you so...', although presumably worded a little less childishly

I just read the first James Bond 007 book. Oh that was so good! I was a little wary of what they were going to do with Oddjob but I loved it, especially the initial competitiveness between Bond/Oddjob and the development of their relationship throughout. I can't wait for book two Also, that Ibrahim Moustafa variant cover... Just amazing. This guy has some great coverwork out there, but he also did Solstice and has been publishing insanely good James Bond pin-ups, linked below. OHMSS is probably my favourite, so foreboding.

How many issues are in the first 007 book? And I completely agree, I think the 007 book has been a blast so far. I've only read the first three issues, but I think they have been really well done. I like this modernized version of Oddjob basically being a reflection of Bond. I could see them adapting this version of Oddjob into a future film. I also enjoyed the flashback to the more traditional Oddjob in the second issue. I am curious how Goldfinger will play into all of this as he hasn't shown up in the issues I've read. And I completely agree, Ibrahim Mousafa's artwork is just stunning. I could look at his art all day. I love how creative those Bond pin-ups are. Some are so simple yet perfect. My favorite ones are the Casino Royale and the Spy Who Loved Me ones.

There are always 6 issues per HC volume, and Goldfinger hasn't really played a role yet, so I guess volume 2 is his moment to shine

That's really sad to hear. I haven't seen it in a few years, but I've always really enjoyed Thunderball and felt that she was really good in the role as Domino. RIP Claudine Auger.
