I ran across this older article, which seems to have the actual timeline of the 5G plans. Interesting stuff but characters ages would be completely wrong which is why giving actual dates is tough. What do you think of their proposed timeline?

The Space Age make me think than the mini series from Allred and Russell was one of the projects planned to justify this timeline.
