There was an explanation later that Eternity was actually Loki playing a trick. It could be a reference to that.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Actually, he said "it's long past time we talked." The word "past" is important. It means "we should have talked a long time ago." This suggests that they had never talked before, but Eternity wishes they had talked.

I hope that helps. English can sometimes be a difficult language and phrases like "it's long past time" probably aren't common sense.

That's what Loki said. We might never know the truth about that. I personally think Loki was lying. He is the God of Mischief after all I can't see his motivations to pose as Eternity and boost Hank's ego like that.

To answer the OP's question, no. To my knowledge they had never spoken before that encounter.

EDIT: That brings me another question though... with Secret Wars and everything, does Eternity still exists? I sort of lost track.

Good catch, I completely missed that.

Is Ultimates still around to resolve this or is it in storyline limbo?

Yeah, it's the main premise of the relaunched Ultimates 2. This is the Al Ewing Ultimates (Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Spectrum, Ms. America Chavez, etc.).

Are U2 and U coexisting books then? For some reason I assumed they were just resetting the book and moving on.

U2 will be continuing the story-line U was developing, until being (kinda) interrupted by CWII

I'm not sure I understand the question... his goggles didn't record stuff 24/7. Do you mean to ask why he didn't show recordings of his encounter with Eternity to someone afterwards? My best bet would be because he didn't record it.

I'm surprised that he's still an atheist after meeting a higher being.
