I noticed that issue #5 of Empty Graves says "Number 35 in a series", and issue #1 of The Red Kingdom says "Number 37 in a series". Did I miss something or is the numbering off?

The numbering was adjusted to include the FCBD one shot.

I really enjoyed this issue, I'm excited to see how the series ends.

It's fantastic to finally get hear after the ending of the novel. This is the story we've been waiting for.

Very powerful. So that was a two year jump from the last series? I am not optimistic about the survival of most of the featured characters.

I enjoyed the expansion of the novel into comic form, but I felt they raced to wrap it up at the end of the novel adaptation. I've been somewhat enjoying the ongoing adventures of Lord Baltimore - even with the slight aroma of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen permeating the work - but I hope I won't feel similarly about the conclusion of the story (i.e., that it would feel rushed).

5 years. The last story was set July 1920.

Thanks, they say Baltimore has been missing for two years in the book, but i guess that the novel enters between the last series and this?

No, the novel covers 1914 to 1919. It seems that after the last series, there was three years where Lord Baltimore was still active, then he vanished in the last two. It seems quite a bit has happened since the previous arc.

Oh, and here's an interview with Christopher Golden.

Man, I was going to post that interview right now! haha
This arc seems really dark and probably will end bad to everybody... but i think Baltimore will manage to defeat the Red King. I hope it is not an end like Jack of Fables!
Baltimore could be an amazing horror show in TV...

I really hated that ending too. At least here the tone has always been grim and a dark ending isn't unexpected.

Issue two has come out and things are certainly coming to a head. Should be epic.

Yeah, it was a good issue. I'm very eager for more.
