Yeah, I knew going in that the different adaptions are all their own thing with just the main cast being more or less the same in each different version. I watched it last night and I did like it a lot, I found puppet master to be a really interesting antagonist. With that said, I get why they would rather do a Kuze type antagonist for the movie, just a lot more straightforward for a hollywood movie.

Glad to hear you liked it. I've noticed quite a few people who watched the tv series first not enjoy the movie.

It's been quite a few years since I've watched SAC so I'm going to need to get reacquainted with Kuze's character.

Well Motoko was always kind of a boring character. She was a typical hard knocks, quiet police officer with a philosophical bent. Her partners/allies were the ones with the more boisterous/extroverted personalities.

Weeeeell I wouldn't call her character boring, especially the manga. She's definitely anything but. Plus I think me using boring to describe Scarlett in the trailer was the wrong word. The thing is, as soon as I heard about the casting, this trailer was exactly how I pictured her acting. I can't really describe it other than saying it would have been nice to see something else.

It's a decent trailer. I'm not sure how the movie itself will turn out though. In my experience, movies made from animes are hit or miss, but mostly miss. I like Ghost In The Shell, but it's one of those high-concept animes that's easy to screw up. Since Scarlet Johansen is the lead in this, I think she'll definitely get the bulk of the attention, as she should. I just worry that a lot of those high-concept elements will get lost in the mix. I'll still give it a chance though.
