Well, we'll get a Maps appearance soon . . . now we just have to get the rest of the crew back.

Note to DC: Stargirl is getting a Spring Break one-shot special, so why not bring back Gotham Academy as a one-shot Summer or "Back-to-School" special?

Yes, excellent call for a necro! Excited to read that story.
Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. -- Grant Morrison, 2008

By the way, is everybody aware that Clownhunter (Bao Pham) is suppose to have gone to "Gotham Academy"?

A couple of pages from Batman Secret Files: Clownhunter #1:

and there were a few other flashback scenes there where Bao Pham keeps getting beat-up at the "Academy" (but also some fighting back).

    Oh, I read it.

And was really angry that they lazily turned Gotham Academy, a place with problems, but was explicitly a love letter to Gotham and the Batfamily, into a cliche bullytown.

I haven't been reading Batman for a while (only picked up a few issues by King and have been avoiding Tynion's run) so I don't know if there were any previous references to Clownhunter at Gotham Academy or if it was just used as a name by Ed Brisson (or some editorial decision maker?) without any implied connection to the Gotham Academy series or not?

At least that one-shot implied he had been going to a school that was referred to as "Gotham Academy", but beyond that I really don't know what the full story is.
(Does he even still go to any school these days?)

There will be a Gotham Academy story by Becky Cloonan, Brendan Fletcher, and Karl Kerschl in August's Saved by the Belle Reve anthology.

It looks roughly to be the same building so I think it's supposed to be the Gotham Academy.

There's gonna be minute differences. Wayne Manor and Arkham change form all the time.

I might pick this up specifically because of the Gotham Academy story.

Otherwise, I might not be buying any other DC titles that month, though I might also try Detective Comics for the James Gordon back-up feature.
