    ELO '73-ish

Of course I wasn't aware of this band until like 4or 5 yrs later and briefly got them mixed up with Boston cuz they both had spaceships on their album covers.

INXS with Jimmy Barnes singing "Good Times" from The Lost Boys Soundtrack...

I grew up in the 80's and I have never seen this movie.

Here's the original from the Easybeats who were most famous for "Friday On My Mind"

Paul Barrere, the bassist and sometimes vocalist and songwriter for Little Feat, died last week at age 71. He was not in the original lineup, but he joined the band in time for their third album, "Dixie Chicken" (1973). Here's the title track.

Here's another track from Little Feat. (Jimmy Page said in a 1975 interview that they were his favorite American band, BTW.) This one is from their 1978 live album "Waiting for Columbus". It's a song written by their founder, Lowell George: Willin'. Linda Ronstadt had an especially nice cover of it, as you may remember.

Minor correction here: Barrere played guitar, not bass. Here's a song he co-wrote for Feat. One of their best, IMO.

West Side Story is one of my favorite all time movies.

It's also worth noting that Alice's "Trashed" album came out around '89 or so. At the same time Guns N Roses were huge, hence the guys in his band with cigarettes in the their mouths that they clearly are not smoking.

If you call my job and they put you on hold, you might hear this song...
