Very unusual duet:
Creedence Clear Water Revival- heard it at least once a day of Armed Forces radio in Vietnam
And from the year before that (i.e., 1966), here's the Airplane recorded live at SF's Winterland Ballroom with "Come Up the Years"
And speaking of live recordings in San Francisco at that time, here's Quicksilver Messenger Service recorded at the Fillmore in 1967 with "Dino's Song". The sound quality isn't the best, but that was all part of the "live" experience.
And you just can't post live tracks from San Francisco in the late 1960s without including some Grateful Dead performing at the Fillmore, so here they are in 1969 with a version of "St. Stephen". (It cuts off abruptly, since they transitioned without stopping into a performance of "William Tell" and then "The Eleven", as they were often wont to do.)

We have just now passed the mark of 25,000 views (listens?) on this thread, which frankly is more interest than I personally had thought geezer rock would arouse herein. All of us who have been following this thread surely owe ed2962 our thanks for starting this thread and keeping it going. I for one have enjoyed posting some of my favorite tracks, finding out that many other people's favorites are also some of mine, and especially discovering some new (old) music that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. So let's just settle back and let the great tunes from the classic rock era "Ripple" through the years and engulf us with the wonderful sounds of that bygone age.
Johnny and Edgar once tried to sue DC Comics over an Jonah Hex Comic!
Bob Seger with a song that was really poignant when it came out
Bob Dylan with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
