When this song came out it was a huge hit and at the time was seen as Carlos's comeback. These days i hear it and think, "Whatever happened to Rob Thomas?"

The purpose of a man is to love a woman,
And the purpose of a woman is to love a man,
So come on baby let's start today, come on baby let's play
The game of love, love, la la la la la love

It started long ago in the Garden of Eden
When Adam said to Eve, baby, you're for me
So come on baby let's start today, come on baby let's play
The game of love, love, la la la la la love

Come on baby 'cause the time is right
Love your daddy with all your might
Put your arms around me, hold me tight
    Play the game of love

The purpose of a man is to love a woman,
And the purpose of a woman is to love a man,
So come on baby let's start today, come on baby let's play
The game of love, love, la la la la la love

The purpose of a man is to love a woman,
And the purpose of a woman is to love a man,
So come on baby let's start today, come on baby let's play
The game of love, love, la la la la la love

Come on baby 'cause the time is right
Love your daddy with all your might
Put your arms around me, hold me tight
    Play the game of love

The game of love, (love), love, (love), la la la la la love
The game of love, (love), love, (love), la la la la la love

The game of love baby, the game of la la la la love
The game of love baby, the game of la la la la love

A song about anti-apartheid activist Stephen Biko who died in 1977. This song was used to create mood incorrectly a feel in an episode of Miami Vice about Sonny's ex-partner who had a death wish after getting a gay friend of theirs killed.

I guess this is as good a place as any to reveal news of the 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class having been announced as Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Cars and The Moody Blues got the call:

It's funny now, but The Cars were sold as a New Wave band yet they got airplay on AOR radio back in the the day. Thing is, during that era radio was very segregated in terms on genres, marketing, audience etc

While Dire Straits will always be recognized for the legendary "Sultans of Swing" and their mid-80's hit "Money For Nothing" (featuring Sting), this song from 1982 has always been a favorite of mine:
